1 John 4:17 “Herein
is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment;
because as He is, so are we in this world.”

The event of the ‘Last Judgment’ is an incredible event to
try to capture in a work of art. The Bible speaks of a time, at the end of the
world, when the souls of all people who have ever lived will be resurrected to
face God’s judgment. This is when God decrees the final destiny of all man
according to the good or evil that they have done in their lives on earth. It
is impossible for an artist to literally depict the judgment of the souls from
all times to appear before God’s judgment seat. Singleton abstracts the
totality of the events in this incredible sculpture.
